Writing Skills

This course is designed to help students improve the skills they need to write for academic purposes, and to increase their reading comprehension. For this, the course modules provide the essential knowledge and training in key areas of academic writing, including writing with correct grammar and punctuation; writing well-structured paragraphs, essays, and letters; summarizing, paraphrasing, and skimming; finding credible resources; and outlining.

This course also seeks to engage students in critical thinking by providing them with multiple opportunities to discuss and develop proficiency in reading and writing critically.

The course encourages students to develop their creative thoughts and imagination by recommending inspiring readings and books and familiarizing them with some basic creative writing techniques.

By the end of this course, students should be able to write their ideas, thoughts, and feelings in a clear structure and with accuracy and they should be aware of the importance of citation.
