
EFL 104
EFL104 is an intensive course designed to teach English as a Foreign Language to students at a low-advanced level. It is intended for students who do not live in an English-speaking environment but need or want to learn English in order to continue their education in an institution at which the English language is used for instruction.
The course covers low-advanced Academic English. Grammar points covered are phrasal verbs, comparatives, conditionals, and wishes. Students are taught over 60 academic vocabulary words and words related to them. They write essays. There are weekly phone conversations with a conversation tutor. Students must complete all activities on the CD and submit all assignments to gain the full benefit of what is offered.
The course seeks to improve the learner`s ability to function in the English language in all four skill areas: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. All activities in the Computerized Online Course Textbook with Activities/CDs need to be completed for progress in the class.
