 Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Psychology

Psychology is the study of human behavior and mental processes leading to expertise in human development. Psychology relates to virtually every other university discipline through such specialties as social and intercultural psychology (social sciences), neuroscience and neuropsychology (biology), and the cognitive sciences and cognitive psychology (information processing and knowledge).

The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Psychology is comprised of 144 course units over an 8 semester (4 year) program. Courses examine key themes identified with psychology: development of the person, biological foundations of behavior, cognitive development and learning processes, perception and cognition, interpersonal relations and psychopathology.  In addition to coursework, students will engage in research projects as part of the program.

As a result of completing this program, graduates will be able to:

  • Apply concepts, apply theoretical and practical principles and research methodologies for the purpose of doing a research paper or a thesis, and or writing scientific reports and articles
  • Demonstrate knowledge of personality assessment, intelligence and attitudes, interviewing techniques, questionnaire design and analysis, child development, and methods of teaching and learning
  • Advance to graduate-level studies

Graduates can work in market research, social work, nursing, advertising, sales, personnel management and career guidance.
